Mission
Swain Qualla SAFE provides free, safe, and confidential services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Swain County and the Qualla Boundary. We support survivors through comprehensive victim support & advocacy, public education, and community partnerships while working to prevent violence and promote safety throughout our community.

Our story
Established in 1985, Swain Qualla SAFE has a longstanding history of providing essential support to survivors and advocating for lasting change. Recognizing a critical need in our community for inclusive, survivor-centered care, we expanded our services to ensure that every individual—regardless of gender, background, or circumstance—has access to safety, resources, and hope. For over four decades, we’ve continually evolved to meet our community’s needs, becoming a trusted partner and advocate in the fight against violence.
As the demand for services grows, SAFE is dedicated to expanding programs, securing additional funding, strengthening outreach efforts, and ensuring that no survivor is left without help or hope.
